Get Funded

How It Works

How does getting funded through PrimeBizFunder work?

Funding usually follows five steps: a short online application, recent business bank statements, a review of deposits and credit by funding partners, an offer showing amount, term and payment, and funding after you sign. Non-SBA products can move within days when documents are ready. Missing statements are the most common delay.

Steps 1 and 2: apply and share your statements

Start with one secure application covering your business, what the funding is for and roughly how much you need. Then share recent business bank statements, often several months depending on the product, along with a photo ID. Accurate revenue figures and complete statements are the two things that most speed up the next step.

  1. Apply online. Business name, EIN, time operating, monthly revenue and the use of funds.
  2. Share documents. Recent business bank statements and ID. Equipment and vehicle requests add a vendor quote.

Use the documents checklist to gather everything before you start.

Step 3: review by funding partners

Funding partners review your deposits, their consistency, existing payment obligations and credit. For a young business, bank statements often carry more weight than a credit history. Reviewers may ask follow-up questions, such as explaining a large deposit or a slow month, and quick answers keep things moving.

Requirements vary by product and funder; many look at time in business, monthly revenue and credit. See what funders look for in bank statements.

Step 4: compare what you are offered

If your business qualifies, you will see offer details: amount, term, payment amount and frequency, total cost and any prepayment terms. Compare them against the job the money needs to do. You are never obligated to accept, and asking questions before signing is expected.

  • Does the payment fit your slowest month, not just your best?
  • Is the term matched to the use: short for short-term needs, longer for equipment?
  • What is the total cost over the full term?

Step 5: sign and receive funds

Once you accept and sign, funds are sent to your business bank account or, for equipment, often paid to the vendor. Timing depends on the product and how quickly documents are completed. Some approvals come within a day or two, depending on documents, while SBA loans usually take considerably longer.

After funding, on-time payments help your next application. Read about how options improve as your business ages, or start your application.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the whole process take?

It depends on the product and your documents. Working capital and revenue-based financing can move within days when statements are complete. Equipment financing adds vendor paperwork, and SBA loans typically take weeks or longer. The most common delay is missing or incomplete bank statements, so gathering them first helps.

Will applying affect my credit?

Credit review practices vary by funder and product, and some reviews happen only at later stages. Ask how and when credit is checked for any offer you are considering. If you are working on your personal score, our guide to moving business costs off personal cards explains why balances matter.

Can I compare more than one offer?

Where more than one funding partner has a fit, you may see different structures. Compare amount, term, payment frequency and total cost side by side, and pick the one matched to the use of funds. Avoid accepting several short-term offers at the same time.

What happens if my business does not qualify yet?

You will learn what held the application back, commonly short history, uneven deposits or existing payments. Many owners fix the issue over a few months, for example by routing all revenue through one business account, and then reapply with cleaner statements.
